event campsite

On the event weekend we have a camping village at a working farm directly on the route, about half way round.

You get a level grass field, water tap and a large barn where we have hot water urns for tea / coffee plus tables and chairs. We hire in portable toilets with wash sinks (cold water). No showers and no wash room.  Coop store 10 minutes walk down the lane.

The barn is where you store and lock up your bike. Its also where we have a quiz on Saturday at 8pm. No mastermind type questions. Its a social thing with a focus on bikes and the landscape you’ve just been over.

We have booked an artisan pizza van run by Alex of Crust n Crumb. You can buy one of five types of hot pizza from 5pm on Saturday. Alex also has cold drinks and alcoholic beverages for sale. Shepley has two pubs with the Farmers Boy serving food (booking advisable).

On Sunday morning there is a hot water urn and porridge pots plus tea and coffee inside the barn from 6am.

Riding 60 to 90 miles in one day across Pennine moors should not be underestimated.  We therefore offer riders on the CDT event weekend a luggage transfer option.  Drop your camping stuff with labels attached in the Event HQ at Mytholmroyd and we will transport it to the campsite.
