Join us on the 18th - 19th September 2027 for the 6th Calder Divide Trail as we tackle the only route in the British Isles to trace the watershed of a river.

For a rider that means you weave your way across ‘12 valleys, 6 moors and 1 floodplain’ on paths of gravel, peat and stone that were once trading routes and have been a part of the landscape for over 800 years. Its our land. Lets ride it.

The Trails

Each of the four routes on the event weekend starts by taking you through the park in Hebden Bridge, up through the oak woods and then wave after wave of Pennine moor. Every rider is free to choose whichever route takes their fancy but two of the routes have trails selected for gravel bikes and two with trails selected for mountain bikes.  The routes are self-navigated meaning you need to follow a map on a navigation device like a Garmin.  There are no signposts or flags along the route saying 'CDT'.

               GRAVEL: Walsden - 167km / 2,760 metres of elevation (104 miles / 11,800 feet)

GPX files

The four GPX files are emailed to riders a week prior to the event. This is so each individual route can be checked right up to the last minute.

Tracker

There is an option to hire a GPS tracker and have friends and family ‘dot watch’ your progress across the route.

luggage transfer

Option to have your luggage transferred to the campsite and back to the event room. Please bring just the single bag with your name written clearly on it. I hire a Crafter VW van so it will fit a large amount of gear. Pack what you need to make the event and your night at the campsite comfortable.

Marsh farm, Shepley

Half way around the route is the campsite where all riders are welcome to pitch up in the farmers field. Each of the GPX files take you directly to Marsh Farm:

Address: 114 Marsh Lane, Shepley, Huddersfield, HD8 8AS

saturday evening

At the campsite on Saturday evening the barn is a useful space to relax and there’s a quiz from 8pm. No master mind type questions, its a social thing with multi choice questions about bikes and the landscape.
